OMG INSURANCE RENEWAL! HIC!!!

right, last night HIC rang me to let me know my insurance renewal is on the 2nd of febuary...

so just a quick question, can i get a better deal for my car since im now 21, 1 years NCB etc etc...

think the lady said its gonna eb £1009 or summat... been quoted £920 on confused.com, will HIC price match??

I had high hopes on HIC having read the posts on here and for my situation I found them about 5th best - worth asking about price match.  The lady I spoke to went off to speak to her supervisor but they couldn't budge so they didn't win my business.  Did you follow up with 920 quote on confused as had this on moneysupermarket - give you a low quote and when you click through to add more details/tweek it and shoots up.

the problem with confused/elephant and the likes is they presume certain answers when giving the original quote and when you click on to take the policy they ask further questions...if your answers are what they like the price will stay, if not the price will increase!!

Im off today but you can ring up and speak to the renewals dept and see what they say (they may need proof of that quote). Im not sure that they will match confused though as, as mentioned above when you actually try to follow up that quote they ask a load more details and often the price changes (most of their quotes are based on a few details then the rest on assumptions). Also you dont get many of the benefits we are able to offer such as cover for mods, agreed valuations etc through confused so its not "like for like" cover so remember often you pay for what you get!
