Dual mass flywheel ?

Is it just diesels fitted with these ?

Not 100% sure but i think there was a recall on the diesels because of a problem with the flywheels which was specific to that engine

Im pretty sure the gti is a DMF as well.
There were recalls for early cars

The GTI does use a Dual Mass flywheel. The weak link are the springs that connect it to the primary flywheel. They've been around for a while now so development should of sorted any  problems
