Rear Torque Arm Insert : Rubber or Metal?
« on: 19 March 2008, 12:59 »
Ok , any opinions on the 3 choices below to reduce transmission movement?
The third metal MTM one is whats thrown me

Neuspeed Engine Torque Arm Insert Mk5
or
ECS Dogbone Mount Insert Kit GO5/Eos/A3/Jet/PasB6/Leo2/Oct2

same thing as far as I can tell......

or on MTM website (I was searching for S3 tuning ;-) related to ED30 )
http://www.mtm-online.de/en/index.php?nav=3&subnav=3

Reinforcement made of high-grade steel for the stabilization of the rear rubber mount in the original torque bracket all AUDI/Volkswagen 2,0 TFSI engines. This claw is simply pushed in and fixed with the standard screw. By the reinforcement movements in the drive strand reduce, e.g. with changes of load.

Only ever seen reviews on rubber versions.
Metal version! better or worse idea? Any one fitted one?

I would have thought that a metal one would be rather harsh unless it is rubber backed.
APR guys gave me one for free. It was the result of testing using a lot of different rubber and polyeurethane compounds and when it gets fitted I'm hoping it is spot on

....I've got the Neuspeed one from Awesome. I got it as a help for my Milltek exhaust mountings - A bracket had broken and it's not uncommon on remapped cars.

My car gets regularly inspected underneath - I was in my VW dealer's this morning and they popped it up on the ramp to check my brakes. All free of charge today  - They had asked me to advise one of their customers about remapping a 54-plate GTI - Laser Blue with pale tan leather...Nice .
