indicators not repeating?!

the indicators on my mk2 1.3 have stopped repeating, when i put them on they just stay on and dont flash. same with when i put the hazard switch on.

preceding this problem when i turn the key to start it there was and still is a clicking from behind the dash for a couple of seconds then it stopped.

any ideas??

You need to replace the relay that controls the flashing.

or relay could be loose, happened to me. just open up the fuse box cover and press all the relays back in.
