Had my 07 GTI chipped.

Hi all,

A month ago had the Revo 5 hour trial by Steve Howe at Triple H Motor Sports 1 Back Claremont Grdns,Whitley Bay,NE26 3SE TEL:07711120884,and had a work trip to Edinburgh,so canned it all the way along the Coldstream road, what a difference!! It makes the car the car it should be.Although dont get me wrong, good performance before, but you had to keep it in the rev range and with a load ie wife kids and pram,i had to get the map on full time,so my £590 went yesterday and it is fantastic.Steve took me out on the coast rd and made sure all was well on his laptop after i had booted it, to show all parameters were fine,he sent me on my way.
Picked a mate up to collect our race parts for our bikes in Richmond Yorkshire, and my mate could not believe the boost in all the rev range.

So,now for a full Milltek res, carbanio, and Forge DV,then and just then,if i use my launch control on my DSG,i might have a chance to keep with the ED 30 boys, although Red Robin it to big an ask with his ballistic gti and just glad pesk and wolfbane are over seas!!!!
Might have Hurdy in my sights at the drag strip, remember my two spuds to stick in his exhaust pipes!!

Anyway, anyone with £600 spare and think the gti needs a boost, see revo and go for it.

Chris.

Sounds good mate, i was after somewhere localish to go and do the trial, im in stockton, on the revo website theres one located in darlington as well.

I was having a mess with the launch control last night. first time off i just lit the front tyres up, second was too cautious and it went a bit wierd.

Dont think i'll be doing it again for a while, from the feel of the car when you do it it obviously has the first gear clutch partially engaged, how long do the clutches last in the dsg box? dont think it would be a cheap fix either.

If you try it in a drag there is a split second between you lifting your foot off the brake and the car actually taking off, does anyone else experience this?

im in ston too and went and checked out the revo dealer in Darlo. It looked like a real scruffy place and all they do is plug the laptop in and update the ECU. They dont have rolling road and dont bother road testing it so theres no way of knowing what BHP your gonner end up with. I think its the MK4 Golf Centre taht is the dealer in Darlo....

I would stay clear mate

thanks for the update.

What sort of service would you be expecting to get from a revo dealer? not fussed about the rolling road but would want them to test drive it and adjust it if necessary
