Power Loss

hi

i was having problem with power loss and its happened after a major service (incl cambelt) at a VW dealer.

i went back to them but they couldnt find the fault and then finally i gave up with them and then went to a independent diagnostic ppl and they said its the air mass meter. since i have changed the AMM its running fine.

its really wierd that AMM is a common problem in golf gti's but still the VW guys couldnt track it. infact the whole experience wasnt that great, i was kinda telling them what exactly to do rather than the other way around.

anyway i got it all sorted and im enjoying my ride... (fingers crossed)

the VW dealers are in london - citygate VW.....hopeless

unfortunately the MAF (mass air flow) sensor is very sensitive and prone to fail, the problem is that it can be hard to diagnose as you have to way to tell if the air flow its reading is right or wrong.

main thing is that you're sorted, and can start to enjoy your GTI
