handbrake question...
« on: 20 February 2008, 20:08 »
Does the lever actually come off and how? i want to repaint mine on the cab. it's chipped and rusty and such.

i have a pathetic excuse for a bit of plastic over mine, not really 'protecting' anything.. is there a leather alternative, are they jsut crap? reckon painting is my option? Halfords?

the later mk2s have a leather boot trim pice that screws to the centre tunnel, would be usefull to finish off your leater boot nicely.  otherwise it'll just kinda sit on the carpet and look like arse!

Not the best pic but you get the idea:

nah it wont be, you got the late handbrake like mine, which bolts to the tunnel.  pre-88 MK2s and MK1s have a bracket welded to the tunnel and have a pin thru the middle that hold on the lever :)
