16v big box or small?
« on: 19 February 2008, 16:27 »
Hi all...

Wonder if you could help. If i don't know the exact date of the engine, but know it was around the time they could have changed this over, how can i tell if it is a big box, or small box.

Also, not entirely sure what this is referring to, but it's listed on pipercross' site as these two options.

Thanks

Hopefully not as stupid a question as it sounds, but is one generally perceived as better than the other? Did the bigger box come in with the bigger inlet manifolds too?

easy way to remember (if your car is original). small bumper = small airbox - big bumper = big airbox

if your car is genuine small bumper car then it will have the small airbox, if its a genuine big bumper then will have the big airbox

to look at.
small box has its air inlet at bottom right corner of airbox
big box has its air inlet on the front of the airbox (behind headlight)
