Just wanted to say hi and I'm back with another golf after my defection to the land of BMW. I bought a 525i Auto E34. Lovely car, just not very exciting.
My last MK2 Gti when to Not escorts and presumably it's been raised from the dead. Poor thing was burning more oil than petrol at the end.
I just picked up a 1992 J reg, dark blue Clipper Cabrio 1.8 for £600.
It's only got 78k on the clock and runs really well. It started up first time after being in a garage since April 2004 apparantlly.
It does need a new roof and the entire interior is covered in mould, mildew and damp.
Also there is a bit of a griding noise from the front drivers side wheel that according to the previous owner is down to a sheared bolt not holding the hub on correctlly.
I will investigate all this.
I will post pics as soon as it stops snowing and you can all see the green interior.
I feel better now though as I am back and I will do penance for my BMW sins.
