Hi all, I have a removable steering wheel, that I used to have on my MK2, and still ahve the MK2 hub, is the steering colum spines the same on the MK2 as the Mk1? so the hub will fit straight on?

I don't think so, on my mk1 the splines are a lot smaller than a mk2.

'89 and onwards cars have the later type of spline> The earlier spline is the same on both MK1 and MK2.
VW sell adapters to convert the splines over

Snap-off contacted me at last and confirmed it will fit, just as modulator stated.
