can the dampers take it captain?
« on: 29 February 2008, 14:34 »
hi all. der panza has to give up its prime garage spot for my dad's mazda as he has sold his house and not bought another one(long story...)  he needs to store some stuff in my garage along with his car. net result is the mk2 has to sit on the street with 2 sets of wheels and tyres in the boot!

is this going to have any long term negative affect on my suspension?  it is running koni adjustables and eibach -40mm springs if that makes a difference. any idea?

My immediate worry would be whether they'd get stolen from the boot of the car because you're unlikely to fit two sets of wheels and tyres under the parcel shelf.

Why not put them in your dad's car in the garage as part of the conditions of storing his car ?

that would be sensible but unfortunately his car is an mx5!  i think they will be safe enough. the car will be parked at my mates house out of sight from the road in a small village and blocked in at night by 2 vans!

the shocks should be ok if the cars stationary, maybe the tyres might get a bit of a flatspot on them?
