anyone got any ideas and suggestions of the best way to take off the rear badges, decided its gonna be  my weekrnd will be to change my 2.0 4 a GTI one

I read somewhere that use of a hair drier on a "warm" setting, a flat knife and some cardboard to protect the paint.

Basic process is to heat the badge/bonding, place the card next to it, and prise the badge off with the knife/screwdriver taking care to avoid contact with the paint.  Try to keep the blade between the badge and the backing, not the backing and the car.

Then once its all off, you might be left with some backing/glue.  Remove with a little tar remover.

Wash the car, and polish and wax the area the badge was present.

Im sure the others will tell me if this is wrong.

Apparently, using a knife or screwdriver is perhaps not the best idea

I think as long as you are carefull, dont force it and do it all gently, you should be fine however you do it.

i've  heard hair dryer and fishing line work best, with a light polish after works well.

Heat badge up with hairdryer.

obtain thin string/fishingwire anything that will fit behind the badge and use like a cheese cutter once the badge is warm.

After badge is off get scratching (fingernail only) while the heat is still on, that ll make the foamy stuff come off better.

Lastly, buff any remaining residue off with some polish. took about 20 mins max

it defo will lok better with a GTI sign been driving 4 the last couple of days and it really winds me up strange arent i
