mk2 headache

hi guys im a golf newbie well yesterday actually anyway i need some help!
i was driving home and the car didnt seem very powerful (not as powerful as my 1.8 vectra) and at 3100 rpm / 70 mph it shudders really shudders! when i go faster it goes when i slow down it goes so i dont know. any ideas?

the mfa is giving some wierd readings, the drivers side footwell is like a swimming pool and there is no heater at all no hot or cold. and temp gauge dont work

- wet footwell/no heating will be the heater matrix, i'm afraid its a pig of a job but you wont want to ask a garage to do it (labour!)

- water temp gauge is an easy fix, replace the black sensor fitted on the water pipe connector just before the head (there are 2 sensors, the other one is blue) - I nicked one off a gti in our local scrappy


I don't think a semi will give the same results

Seriously though thats good advise.
Dont worry too much as these things are always repairable, just not easily half the time.
Shuddering engine? Do a search on this site it's most probably something simple :wink:

Is it the original cam? It could be your fuel lines or fuel filter, have a look how clean the fuel filter is and replace it if it seems dirty. It could be the actual lines tho...


Btw. Thanks for the info on the the water temp sensor as myn needs replacing, going to go and get the part today :)

i think it is the orignal cam. the ive phoned a lad i know and he said it could be the timing dont know how true that is tho.
