Pick my GTI 1.8t up thursday please advise

Hi everyone im new to the forum.  I have some questions but first ill give you the car info that may help.  53plate Black 5 door 1.8t GTI 32500 miles FVWSH.  Completely standard apart from induction kit.  After looking at the site prior to buying i am in the understanding that this will be a 180 is that right?  Secondly what should service intervals be bearing in mind i do approx 8000miles a year in it.  Due to it being a turbo will it require additional servicing? What would one of those forge dump valves do that would be beneficial to the engine/turbo.

Im sorry if you have answered these questions before and if some are silly but in a novice when it comes to turbos

it could be 180 bhp but it could be 150 bhp the 180 was available after 2001 iirc but not all 1.8T's built after that were 180 bhp, you'll have to check the sticker under the boot mat or on the options list or get the engine code.

service interval on fixed service is every 10k

no additional servicing required as the turbo pretty much looks after itself (aslong as you less her cool down before you switch the engine off)

i'll let a petrol head answer the dump valve question.

Forge 007p i believe is the DV of choice; it helps maintain boost pressure further up the rev range and isn't prone to splitiing like the OEM one
