fitting bonnet lifters

could some one please let me no where to fit the ball joints a pic would be brill ive put them on but the bonnet wontclose there inxx ones cheers

I think i does not matter which way up they go but i assume that the bonnet will not close cos there are rubber bit on both side on about half way down  you have to remove them they just pull out thats what i had to do, and that what is says in the haynes Mod manual its a GREAT BOOK GET IT!! Or have a look in halfords!! Cheeky I know!
