I went for a 1.8t due the the reduced cost when buying it.

It's just been remapped and I can still get over 40mpg over a 20 mile run to and from work when driving cautiously.

I suppose it all depends on how you like your power delivery and also how many miles you do.

Think I'm sold on the idea of the 1.8T version TBH. All I have to do now is get the funds together and test drive one.

Been doing a few car quotes recently and just wondering what the difference between the GT 150 and 1.8T was I tried both with direct line to find the GT 150 would actually cost me £128 more a year than the 1.8T. The 1.8T would also cost me £133 more than the MK2 GTI 8v.

Think I'm just gonna do my MK2 up some more and enjoy it while I have it. I like it so why buy something else quite yet?! It's not like it's slow like a MK4 GTI non-turbo.

Thanks to all who took part in the poll. It was interesting to see how it turned out.
