Volkswagen Dealerships Are Rip Off Merchants!!

went today to get a quote for: a service, cambelt changing and new water pump......... £724!!!!!! WTF?!!!

went to nitro performance across town for a quote for the same stuff.............£320 inc VAT saving £400!!!!

how can they get away with that>??

also asked abbout the myth of the oil pumps going on the 1.8t..... a mechanic told me in person that they should never fail, only if something else is wrong with the car...... this has got 2 be true coz they wernt tryin 2 screw cash outa me! l9ol!

i think main dealers are a rip off. I work at a maindealer as an apperntice mechanic at Citroen, i dont fink a main dealer is any better than a back street garage, i would just fink a good lil local garage. iv seen tecks cut corners on jobs just coz there work on bonus and the quicker you get the job done the more money you earn. but it mite not be like that at all maindealer but im sure a lot are a rip off.

Well im getting just my cambelt done soon and i got quoted £180 for it which i thought was a good price and the bloke that does most of the work there comes from the vw main stealers

My sister got a quote for a spare run-flat tyre (205 55 R16 so not even a low profile one) from a main dealer - £225! For one Tyre!!
