Well, I needed the heater matrix done and didnt have the confidence to do it myself so rang a reccomended garage (wont say who at this point).

They quoted me £80 for the matrix and £60 for the fitting, which I thought was ok...took it down and left the car with them and went to collect..but..still no hot air as a valve had siezed also, they did admit they should have picked up on it but will still need the car back and charge another £60 to fit this part also.

But, here is the really annoying thing, they have done a poor job at re fitting my dash, and more importantly, I now have no internal lights and the central locking is dead...I have said to them that I'm not happy but I did not know about the problems untill I went to drive the car later that night..will update on sat when it gets re looked at...

Moral of the story..always do the work yourself..it may take longer but you will always do a better job as its your car!!!

80 for the matrix is twice whats you should have paid, however 60 for fitting is very cheap. thats 2 hours labour max... i dont think anyone could have it done properly in two hours (took me about 10 hours!)

you only get what you pay for i guess.

I don't think a semi will give the same results

I think I will just have to accept my error tp trust a garage and get it working then sort out the poor fitting bits over time...

just feel out of love with her at the moment...like its not perfect anymore...it may have been broke but it was together as it should be!

But, I was there for at least 3 hours waiting and they had been working on it for an hour prior to me getting there to collect it.
