Its a celebration! Or perhaps not...
« on: 09 December 2007, 10:16 »
A year of ownership.
X amount of years of driving.
A Ford Escort...
A Opel Corsa...
A Golf VR6...
A BMW 320i 3 series...
And now a Golf GTI...

Guess who got her first fine yesterday?  (Sorry to shame you dear mother, but it happens to everyone.)

Wont talk about what speed she was doing...
But we now have a lovely toy that is attatched to the windscreen. Radar Detector and the GPS we have tells us where the fixed cameras and mounted cameras are and gives you ample warning to slow down.

No more fines for us!
Who else has got a fine in their GTI? And how many fines have you got?

Mike

I got some parking tickets. One at 3.30am, on a quiet residential street, would you believe!
Also got some speeding tickets: doing 70 on 50, doing 126 on 100, and a couple in the city doing something like 54 on 50. The first two were pretty expensive.  Now trying to stick to limits but I have developed a twitch in my right foot from always wanting to hear sssssss and pshhhhh sounds.

Almost got my first speeding ticket last Christmas

doing 61 in a 40 zone @ 2.10am, didnt see the police in my rear view, he was quite a way back & it was foggy

anyway, believe it or not after a ticking off where he explained i'd be getting 3 points & an on the spot £60 fine Mr Plod let me off!

couldn't believe my luck, i'm only 25 and already had a shunt a few years back, so wouldve screwed my insurance

So i suppose they ain't all bad!

I got my second speeding ticket in 18 months on Sunday

Was caught by an unmarked silver BMW on the A130 in Essex. He said I was doing an average of 88 over 3/4 of a mile and my top speed was 94. Road was a little bit wet but quiet. Was hoping he'd let me off but unfortanately he didn't.

So, going to have to take it a bit easier for a while now... grrrr
