Fuel tank accident
« on: 07 December 2007, 18:24 »
Hi,

I had a bit of an accident, while I was jacking the car up on the rear beam it slipped off and managed to put a dent in the fuel tank. I heard the air escaping as the dent formed. Luckily the tank did not split.

Has this happened to anyone else before and do you think it is possible to take the tank off and try to put some compressed air in to it to push out the dent? Any ideas welcome. I could do with out having to get a new tank at the moment so can anyone see any problems just running like it is until I can sort it out?

Thanks

Matt B.

I just won't get as much out of a tank as I used to.

I suppose with enough time it might pop itself out again.
