Using the rear wiper
« on: 03 December 2007, 10:09 »
Don't have a handbook so I don't know to switch it on! Wiper works when I push the stalk away for rear wash-wipe but I don't know how to have it on 'normally'.
I might sound like a girl but I'm not

it only works one way on the stalks, the way youre doing it?

or do you want it to be intermittent.. cause iirc yours was an early car asnt it.. around c? i got a number 20 relay from an early mk2 which means it only does one wipe when i want it to. not intermittent...

relay 72, later cars, intermittent, stopped by pushing the stalk a second time..

relay 20 early mk2 and mk1s, single push, thats it. seems to be the quicker you push it the less wipes it does.. if you hold it a moment longer itll do a few extra

if you find one and fit it in place of 72 it will be a single wipe only.. not interm

EDIT: replace number 72 with 20, 19 is front wiper

Peel has an 85 MK 2 which only does one wipe then stops, which is what they done back then, the later models sorted that out. Would be worth knowing what year they change it, wouldn't it? Maybe one of teh dub gurus can enlighten us?
