One press to deadlock - as per the handbook.  I don't think two presses disables the alarm though - just disables the deadlocking.  Easy to test the alarm.  Lock yourself in the car and jump around!  Same for the deadlocking - lock yourself in and then try to open the door (two pulls on the internal handle to open the door) if the door opens it's not deadlocked

Best way of testing the alarm... Lock yourself in

Our car is one click. Unlocks passenger doors. Nother unlocks passenger and boot doors.
To lock= One click.

With regards to your other post. You dont have the highline so for now probably take it to a dealer. They wil change it quick quick.

Doesn't have any extras. 06 reg so not new, wv approved used car, £5 short of £16k. 25k on the clock. I thought that was a reasonable price for car that age. serviced this year. no dents **knock on wood**. Lovely car. But...didn't realise at the time, no carpet mats, which I have not ordered.

Radio system not most exciting but playing CDs I think CD quality very good indeed. Shame does not have highline I guess, would be handy, and reverse kurb-adjusting mirrors, since doing this manually at the moment. Lots of parallel parking at work.

But overall very chuffed, such improvement from my old car. Eagerly a/w weekends for b-road action.

True, when I bought my GTI with DSG from a VW dealer the salesman told me that the DSG has more BHP than the manual box thats why they are quicker.  I did try and correct him but just left him to believe himself in the end

My dealer tried convincing me that they would be bringing out a diesel version of the ED30. It was almost believable.
