Installing a Sub + Amp
« on: 02 November 2007, 11:57 »
On Sunday a friend of mine who does the odd DIY on sound systems is going to throw in a sub and amp into my MK4.

He asked me if I can look about for some sort of DIY guide on where to feed wires etc through to car as this will save lots of time.

Had a look on Goggle but had no joy as of yet, anyone know any decent guides?

Cheers

Not sure on guides but in the past I have always run them down the sills under the covers as this is usually where load sof the OE wiring goes.

A good tip is to run the power down one side and the RCA's down the other to stop interference.

If you follow the bonnet release cable from inside the bonnet, it will run underneath the wipers and there should be a little rubber bung, pop it out and feed through there!! it takes a bit of fiddling to find the wire inside the car but i found that to be the easiest way of putting it through!!
hope that helps!!
