Gt Tdi insurance
« on: 25 October 2007, 17:21 »
Hey all hoping someone can give me some advice, I've just joined as I've just taken delivery of a 57 plate GT TDi sport ;) she's a beauty.  I've just added it to my current insurance policy which is with tescos, my renewal is due in a months time and they're not being very competetive with my quote.  I have a clean licence, I'm 28 and live in Cheshire so not a high risk area :) They are quoting me over £1000 which is rediculous at my age or at least i think so.  I saw that advert on TV for moneysupermarket (I've been trying to ignore it as it's a little annoying) I had a look on their page http://www.moneysupermarket.com/motor/ and found tescos are quoting me much cheaper than my renewal, several hundred pounds.  Does this quite often tend to be the case if you look online?  I was also wondering if there are any specialist companies you could recommend to try?  Any help would be much appreciated.  Also looking to get it chipped or use a piggy back device like the ones tunit in lancashire do :) has anyone got any experience with these?

Hello mate,

I have found that this is quite common when you are getting quotes through agregators such as confused/money supermarket etc as they will often just ask the bare minimum questions needed to get you a quote, the rest is based on assumptions. This means that when you actually try to proceed with the quote then they will often require additional information and find there is additional premium or fees that need to be paid.

Even when it comes to getting online quotes from us, i always suggest you run it through then contact the office as we have many schemes available in the office that are not online and can sometimes when needed negotiate a discount if the rates are not competitive which a website cant do.

If you would like me to see what we could do and what sort of difference a chip is likely to make then feel free to pm me your number and i will give you a bell and take a look.
