VW wheel inset thingy
« on: 25 October 2007, 20:42 »
Not sure of the correct name for it but one of the VW badges that is on the centre of your wheel to cover the wheel nuts has gone from my ED 30 that I only got last week  Not sure if it fell off or if it has been pinched.

Has this happened to anyone else?  I am taking it in to get the spare key next Saturday do you think that the stealer should replace this gratis as it surely poorly put on in the first place.

I had one nicked a while ago but VW wouldn't replace it under warranty. Cost about £5. Mine have now got white worm corrosion from the UK winter road salts. I've removed them all and will copper grease the recesses left.

OK going to call them today anyway and see if I can't force them into giving it to me for free - if it is only a fiver then it is no real hardship

if they start to worm vw will replace them, my wheels wormed up looked sh!t really ruined the look of the car first vw where going to replace all 4 wheels under warranty then they would only refurb them then they knocked the claim wayne kerrs, so dealer sorted them through L**SONS 3 weeks later the worms are back im now driving a chevy tacuma 1.6 whilst my car is on the ramp (nice) apparently the wheels cant be refurbed more than twice as there hollow going black next time, since june its been off the road 10 weeks i HATE this car where to go to next.

My dealer in Edinburgh said that 'it was normal that they fell off as they are not the best fit' which I found to be a very poor response.

When I come to pick it up next week I will not be paying for it as the car is only two weeks old and I don't expect bits to fall off a two week old car

I think that the guys that worked on the car when we sent it in for its service broke it. Because when I sprayed the rims with the jetwasher last weekend it fell out and the on eclip was broken. I told my dad and then stuck it in again expecting it to fall off.

Bl@ddy VW Service.
