Did VW ever build a 2.0 sportline convertible Mk1 ?
« on: 30 September 2007, 21:34 »
There is a guy on Pistonheads who claims he has a rare 2.0 Sportline convertible for sale, I thought the MK1's were only available with a 1.8 despite the car being a 1992 model imported from France.

If they did I've never heard of it. I know they did a mk1 (tintop) in France that ran a 16v engine, so it is possible that they did a different spec for the Sportline in France. I've just looked at it on Pistonheads and if you look at the engine pic number 6, the right hand side where the air box is, it does look different to the usual mk1 k-jet as it doesn't look to have any metering head.

It is possible, but I can't say for definite.
......now officially dubless.
