Another leak,not again
« on: 13 September 2007, 22:11 »

Spent most of Tuesday fitting my new radiator and was delighted as I should have had no more leaks.Filled up with new colant and was so happy until now.Found some water drips on the avenue and spent ages checking all the hoses I had taken off two days previous and all seemed fine.Found a small drip coming from where the bottom hose connects to the flange going to the water pump.Fear its the flange on the water pump cracked, must have been the muppet that fitted the new water pump before I bought the car.Obviously tightened the bolts back to hard and cracked it.Does anyone know the part no of the flange by any chance??Is it better to get an original part or is the GSF ONE UP TO SCRATCH?Thanks once again.

Sorry its a 1989 8v

tbh they aren't expensive from vw so you may as well get one from them.

make sure you get an o ring too.

if your car is non pas then this it is an easy job. if it has pas - enjoy

when you take the bottom hose off catch the coolant and then you can re-use it - no waste then
