my 8v gti is starting to use even more oil i filed it up the other day and already its lost 250ml a quarter!
i did work it out not long ago that it was using 250ml every 90 mile thats giving it some everytime i go out in it....its now on 199.000 nearly 200000
it tends to smoke slightly when really hot but it isnt visible in the rear view mirror......mate says just little puffs at high rev gear changes.. i'm using 10w/40......and i was thinking about changing to a 15w/40 or not long ago i was thinking about having the oil seals done, i was thinking about doing it myself but i dont really have the know how to put the cambelt back on and also i wont be keeping it that long as i'm changing it for a mk 3 or even a vr6 ......
any ideas on how to get this oil consumption down...
i could do the seals but would this cure it......
it still goes like a rocket so i wouldnt of thought it would be the rings.......
