all i've got to say is tossers!
i've had enough of this big bro mentality - need to exercise a little good nature and common sense when sighting these vans!

personally, i've just been busted on the a1058 coast road in newcastle. tossers were sat up on a raised piece of trunk road next to the dual carriageway. opened my gti up as i was approaching the national speed limit section and got busted. no police chase just an innocuous brown 'envelope of doom' on the door at a few weeks later.
interestingly enough, a police source of mine has told me that the ticket has to be issued within 3 weeks of the offence taking place with the benefit of a few addtional days for administration (bollocks really

)
anyhow, if they fall outside of this timeframe, so i'm told, the ticket does not stand (be an interesting one to challenge). Also (sorry if i'm rambling...), the van has to be adequately marked, ie chevrons across the back of it. its no longer allowed for them to have these so called stealth-traps. this exposes the moral of my story, the van that busted my good self was completely white on the back and had no markings at all (do i challenge it?

at the mo, i've enough rage induced motivation to have a bash).
the only thing that gave it away was the 'false' offside rear window. there seem to be 2 types of vans, one sort of this type and the other with 2 air vent style openings in the top of both back doors.
only thing you can be sure of is that both vans contain the lowest form of human intelligence acting under the road safety partnership banner (nothing to do wth some shi*e copper after a few stripes and a better title then?)
yes, i am bitter

, and once again, apologise for ranting, but it seems that the police nowadays are more at home in the back of vans than acting as a deterrant on the roads by being seen in traffic patrol cars on the nations roads.
