and how can an insurance company check for any ecu remapping? do they rolling road the car after a claim?

most don't bother but i believe the ECU shows the number of times its been flashed (ooo er) so if that doesn't tie in with the dealers records then bye bye insurance
Yebut - unless the insurer actually gets the car plugged into the VAS5051/5052, and then gets a link up with Wolfsburg, NO insurance company will be able to detect the flash count.

Secondly, if you do tell porkies on your insurance renewal, providing the insurance company accepts your details, ie, they take your money, and give you a valid Certificate of Insurance - even if they subsquently find out about your porkies, they still have a legal obligation to provide Third Party cover. Therefore, you won't get done for no insurance, but you may loose any fully comp cover.
