VIC Checks - can anyone sort me out here?

Hi, on the pug forum I used to be a member of there was a guy that could do free VIC checks from his work....can anyone else on here do it? I'm wanting to buy an import Mazda Eunos, but the car is about 450miles away, so I'm buying the car blind. Doing as much research as possible will help me.

L258 MBL is the registration.

Or if anyone knows of any cheap ones (is it even worthwhile doing it on a 1999 import?)

you can do it via your mobile, costs £3 as you get 3 texts returned with details on the car

just text CHECK L258 MBL to 88600

if the reg is not recognised you will not get charged
