which oil
« on: 15 August 2007, 14:43 »
Oil level is practically empty and I need a top up or refill, but what should I get, I need to get some on the way home, but don't have my books with me to check which type.

Synta Gold?
Synthetic or non-synthetic?

Quick let me know asap please!!!

107,600 miles and in need of a service and filter change etc, but not enough time or money at the moment so what can I fill it up with for a couple of weeks, don't mind buying the best stuff for a temporary top up!   Car is as below.  Thanks in advance.  Dougie.

If no one tells you here Halfords will be able to tell you. They have a fancy computer that spits out what oil you need after typeing in your motors details.

any semi-synth 10w40 will do. a litre will move the level from min to max level on dip stick.

then in a couple of weeks time just buy a good semi-synth oil and do a proper oil & filter change.
