right,
ignition off, hold trip reste button for about 5-6 seconds, whilst holding down turn on ignition, release knob, and turn clock knob(with ignition still on) left or right until you see '---' then release knobs, turn ignition off, then start car and see if warning message gone?? iuf not try again but twisting clock knob the other way! ;D

But beware, if yours is set to variable longlife servicing regime this solution will only reset it using time and distance parameters rather than utilising the oil quality sensor.

Hey,

Do you know if this works the same on Polos? I've got the same problem on my other car (1998 Polo)

Cheers

Yeah - was planning to.  Haven't had a chance yet as my wifey drives that one.

Just wondered if anyone knew of a different sequence for odo's on Polos!
