ok, i bought a 2.0 bottom end for my 90'spec mk2 8v, and fitted my head to it.. no problem. it all went in ok too apart from 1 bolt. its the bolt that goes through the block into the box, its the one nearest the O/S drive shaft. the problem is that there is a locating collet in the box and in the block( my fault for not checking it before putting it in), so i cant get the bolt in and its left a gap between the 2 mating faces. Ive managed to wriggle the engine free from the box to try and take 1 of the collets out (the one in the box), but it just wont budge.. whats the best way to get these out with out having to remove the entire gearbox. if anyones got any idea at all id be most appreciative as i want it back on the road of volksfest wales in a fortnight, and theres not gonna be enough time to take it all out.
