Fuel Pump change

does anybody know how hard it is to change a manual/mechanical fuel pump to an electric one?mines a 1.6 driver carb fed but hopefully it wont be that way for long if ive got nething to do with it,but to have the engine it needs a leccy pump

depends what management you'll be running the engine on as to what pump you need!

im looking to get a 1.8 turb in there inda end ive been told that a 8v fuel pump will be upto the job.i know ill have to run the loom to the pump,but this isnt the hardest part.the bit im bothered about it access and will the electric pump just slot in?

I'd go for a k-jet 8v or 16v pump in that case, will supply more than enough!  Just remove both the under car and in tank fuel pumps along with all the fuel lines in between.  Also, nick the 2 lines from the metering head to the main fuel lines, as you can chop out the threaded -> barbed hose fittings if needed
(you'll see what I mean when you look at the car )

It will all bolt up no bother, if I were you I'ds also pinch the fuel pump relay and pump loom as well.  Try to get it from a car with the same type of fusebox as yours though!  Check my fusebox FAQ for more info.
