clutch - free play
« on: 26 July 2007, 19:07 »
my clutch pedal sits about 2 inches higher than the brake pedal and pressing it has no effect til its roughly in line with the brake.

the clutch itself is fine.

is something missing down there thats meant to stop the pedal coming up that far?

cheers.

Yeah there should be a stopper on the cable these often break, best bet would be to fit a brand new cable, they arent dear would solve your problem.
Thinking about it think the pedal has one as well..... might be worth checking, change the cable first, if that doesnt cure it then either visit a scrappy or fudge something up for the pedal stopper, will try and have a look at mine see if there is anything on the pedal.

it'll be the stopper on the pedal that has fell off, you can get them from VAG for about 80p or something, or use a bolt with two nuts and you can make it adjustable

any amount of info on the site about it if you use the search function
