I used to own a MK5 GT TDi, I bought it because I kidded myself I'd save money on fuel, but after owning it for 3 months, I realised the saving was minimal, and the driving please for me was less than minimal, although at the time I considered it too have the best 2.0 ltr diesel engine about, even better than the BMW of it's time,, the fun factor wasn't there for me.
Yes it had lots of torque, but it was like most diesels short on rev's, if you driving involve many hour on the motorway at around 80, then they make sense, but if you like car's and driving them, you might, like me struggle.
