Dear All,

I fancy changing the RCD300 stereo in my GTi MKV to an aftermarket unit BUT would like to be able to control the VW 6CD Changer (made by Sony for VW) in the armrest with an aftermarket unit - does anyone know if this is possible?

I've been looking at buying the Sony MEX-BT5000 headunit, but am not sure how this could be done (as the connectors are different I'm sure). Are there any other non-OEM headunits which could do this?

Cheers,

Rob

It depends on what aftermarket unit you buy and if there is an adapter cable/connector for it.

Try posting in the audio section as well for a wider response

Hmmm, are you sure the OEM CD changer is made by Sony?  The last time I checked, they were made by Panasonic.  :undecided:

Anyway, as Hurdy states, the audio section is where you are more likely to get better answers.
