Quick Exhaust Question.... Mk1 Cabby Rivage
« on: 13 March 2007, 20:06 »
Well, I'm finding my mk1 rivage cabby exhaust alittle bit raspy at the front end under load...
Took it to a garage today, and whilst looking underneath, found no holes at all which I shouldn't think so seen as it had a powerflow exhaust fitted not so long ago.... by previous owner.

Anyhow.... I did find the front down pipe to have a very cheap tinny sound, and can see that this seems to be my problem...

Is there anyway of curing this, I thought possibly some heat wrap around it????

Any help appreciated guys...

Hey Tee, hope you're well. Where do you think the problem is ? The downpipe is just about the only thing that hasn't been replaced on the exhaust. It's had the manifold, manifold gasket and the clamps replaced not long ago as it was blowing from that end.

Alright Paul...

I don't think the exhaust is blowing.... it just sounds alittle raspy at the front, which from reading through acouple of threads I thought it might possibly be the ring inside the top of the downpipe????
When I get chance I will wrapp the downpipe to see if that eliminates it.... I'm possibly being a perfectionist here though

Or maybe not as Joe slated me for not polishing it enough/properly in the detailing thread!
