After always wanting a golf GTI, im now 29 and can afford to insure the little darling so have bought myself (at my wifes disbelief i may add) a 1990 mk2 gti 8v.
I did get it quite cheap and has a few minor issuses like not idling at present and a crack in front bumper, also has a few bits of rust but the interior and engine bay are imaculate.
For some strange reason has really gay 14' astra alloys which wont be on for long.
im intending on getting new alloys, a mongoose exhaust and giving the old girl a full service when i have a bit more cash.
anyway thought i would introduce myself and say hi.
BTW this is a brilliantly useful site and the guys on here seem so damn helpful.
