Mk2 GTi 16v

I've seen a mk2 GTi 16v 3dr 1987 D-reg up for sale at a local garage. There's no service history, it's silver and has 170k on the clock £495. It looks pretty standard no bodykits or extras not aware of any mods, fabric interior i'm tempted only on cost wise as a little project.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

just do the usual checks. for £495 if the bodywork is completly sound its worth a punt

the mechanical side of things are all easily fixed!!
