Headgasket

i think its going, its at the garage now getting tested so ill find out soon, on the bright side i`l finally know where all my waters been going,  ive never paid for this to be done, what do you think im looking at as a minimum?  its a 16v mk2

it all depends on why the head gaskets gone? could be just the gasket or a problem with the head but until it`s confirmed it`s the head gasket and then stripped to find out why it`s gone who knows i`m afraid

garage quoted me 560 as a minimum to take the head off and refit it to see if thats whats wrong, with no garentee that thats going to fix it as the head might be cracked or something im just gonna get another engine instead, good ol volksmania in bath are gonna charge me about 450 inc vat for an engine and fitting, which is cool cause assuming its a good one will potentially kill my crap idle too :d all good really, just gotta hope its a good engine

have you had a water pressure test done? might be worth it before spending big money on engine work/swaps
