Fuse Box hassle
« on: 05 June 2007, 19:53 »
I've had the wires from the heater blower burn out due to regulator failing and the resistance melting the block. I've got a new connector block for the rear of the fuse box (blue 22pin..letter D one) which was £2.00 so quite cool.

Upon trying to get the old connectors out the wire pulls out and the metal connector that goes into the block stays in the block. Now VW don't sell the connectors....they sell the connectors with a short length of wire attached so you splice/bullet them together and then put into the new block...fine...but at £1.15 for the thin wires and £2.00 for the thick ones it works out at £30ish for all of them all which is a bit steep for about £0.50 worth of metal but whatever(add Jerry Springer audience member voice here).

My question is this...can somebody please tell me where to find information to specifically tell me what colour wire goes to which point on the block and what it does i.e. red/white stripe connector no.4 fan blower as I've trawled the sites for a specific diagram to this block and found none anywhere.

I need to know as some of the wires are loose and I can't match them and and don't want to f**k anything else up.

Massive thanks in advance

Simon.

Don't know if this will help you at all, but it's the only website I've ever seen that comes close to what you're looking for.

......now officially dubless.

Cheers for that but I'm looking for the plan of the back of the fuse box and what wires go into what number on the block....I'm going to go to Storm when they are back from annual leave and check some of the Mk1s they have there to get the right positions
