Removing paint from chrome alloys
« on: 25 May 2007, 19:00 »
The alloys that I recently bought were sprayed black on the inside edges by the previous owner, but its a pants spray job and just looks stupid, whats the best way of going about removing it without damaging the chrome.

Yeah, its ok to use, well actually I only ever use nitromorse then wash off with washing up liquid (the fairy kind :D) and water. It won’t damage the ally if that’s your concern.

I stripped my wheels with nitromors then cleaned of with car wash don't use washing up liquid as it has salts in it and it will slowly corrode the alloy as the pores open up with nitromors. I found the Wickes paint remover easier to use as it's a gel so doesn't run. :)

Probably got lost in the "Great Crash of 08

There's no problem using washing up liquid.
