Help - 8valve jerking me right off...lol

Hi guys,

I have a 93 k reg 8 valve gti.....just done over 100k....

I dont know what it is but when im driving doesnt matter what gear the car keeps on juddering, almost like its gonna run out of fuel... ....it doesnt quite idle properly at times and fluctuates above or below 1000rpm.........

from time to time, i also get the smell of petrol in the car...cany anyone help because im lost..

first make sure the fuel filter is new, or unblocked and there is no holes in the fuel lines drawing in air, the 8v has a problem with the throttle body gumming up, take the intake pipe off and have a look at the butterfly for gumming. use a brake cleaner spray to clean if off (best take the throttle body off due to the cleaner being very flamable) they must be set up on a computer to get the best results.
