engine mounting
« on: 06 February 2004, 18:40 »

Hello

I have a vibration from the engine in the cabin and through the steering wheel only when the car is idling.

I read recently i need to check the engine mountings...I had a look and finding it hard finding something in the engine bay that looks like its holding the engine to the car.  Can anyone help me locate this and how do I check it it needs replacing.

Heard theres a thing called ISV that needs checking also...

And the idle speed mixture needs to be checked.....Is this correct and should I check anything else?

cheers All

Manesh

get a trolley jack and lift the engine up and look to see if theres any movement or you can start it up with the bonnet open put the hand break on put it in gear let the clutch out slowly and then in reverse and look for movement
