Wheel Sizes
« on: 30 April 2007, 19:12 »
I currently have some 17" Lenso RS5s which came with my 16v Mk2 but they rub on the arches with any more than one person in the back! I'm looking to get som BBS wheels anyway and would like to know what dimensions I should be looking for in terms of width and offset.

I've been told that the widest the arches would accept (without being rolled) is 6.5J. Is that true? And what effect does offset have?

Also, any opinions on which are best/most comfortable?  I'm thinking about 15" but any thoughts wuold be welcome!

Thanks for any help

15s are accepted as the best rim for ride and handling, and 6.5J is what most VAG 15s run to.

BBS are a very good option, and will give the OEM look.  Personally I'm into Steels at the moment, but have also had the Sebrings in the past.

All a matter of taste!

Have a look at the following link for a few tips as to what will fit....

7/7.5 width will be fine as long as its not slammed and you need an offset of between et38 and et30. any lower and they will stick out too far and rub.
team grumpy....... its a way of life, not a forum post

I've just got 15x7's but I'm yet to test fit them to see how they look. Might drop them on tonight for a look see though, trouble is, mine is slammed!
