Looking to buy a 2.0 GTI
« on: 30 April 2007, 16:56 »
Hello all

Just joined the group yesterday as looking to buy a GTI for around the £2,000 mark. I've been looking on Autotrader and came across this which looks good but seems a bit expensive for the year - so I'm after some advice from seasoned professionals! Also, any idea if this model is 8/16 valve & fitted with ABS?

Manual, 76,000 miles, 5 door, 1 Mature Owner from New. Full Service History (13 Stamps - last serviced at 69,000 miles and maintained regardless of cost); Metallic Dragon Green, Electric Sunroof, Power Steering, Central Locking, Alloy Wheels, Electric Windows (x4) and Mirrors, Drivers Airbag, On-board Computer. MOT to August '07.

Thanks in advance

T

Theres usually a badge on the front in red - 16v.
As for ABS you would have to ask but if it is a 16v they usually have it as standard.

Ooops! Just realised that I didn't put the year in the description - guessing it would help bearing in mind my question: 1996 on an N plate

seems very dear, even considering the mileage. mines is a 8v 3dr, same year, colour and spec apart from it has A/C, 130k on the clock and it was 850 large.

you could get a nice vr6 for 2gs

I wouldnt pay any more than £1500 for that, as an absolute maximum.

hang on its Dragon Green, make that £1300.

Good price there. Perhaps people are willing to pay more up north.
Just us southerners getting the bargains!
