should i sell it?
« on: 23 April 2007, 13:50 »
im being indecisive again and i need help! lol

As you may or may not know me and steve are planning on moving down south and running a livery yard. This basically means we are buying a big 4x4 for the farm and we will also keep steves Ford KA just for running around.
So we have our 2 cars that we need plus steve wants to keep his mk1 golf as a project. That leaves my mk2 kinda useless.

There is no point in keeping it MOT'd and on the road as i will mostly be using the KA for shopping or the 4x4 for fencing, towing, and going to the farm shop. Steve wants me to keep it as a project and pull it apart and make it really nice but im not convinced i will a) have the time and b) want to do it!

I have always said to myself that if i get any 'spare' money i will get the corrado that ive always wanted so i wont want to be spending money on a H reg golf.

Im unemployed at the moment waiting to move and i only use my car once every 2 weeks to go to the job centre!
Its MOT and insurance runs out in a months time and i wont have the cash to test it.

So here the options!:

a) keep it, stick it on the drive, trailer it down south and store it somewhere to do up.

b) flog it off the drive in a months time with all the parts i have for it and put the money towards the corrado fund.

c) flog it now with all the parts then the new owner can drive it home.

If the answer is b or c - how much do you think i should put it up for? It needs a bit of paint work done (big bumpers painting), needs a handbrake cable for the MOT and the back box fitting which i have, other than that it runs and drives fine. Its just had new brake pads too.

If you're heart isn't in it (and is never going to - "I've always wanted a rado!!") then I'd go for selling it now while its still T&T'd. With T&T is only worth scrap or parts value.

As for a price, without knowing anything about, I think you should be loking for around £300-400???

Hope this helps :undecided:

sell it, simply because in that pic it looks two different shades of blue. there is any gods amount of good mk2 shells out there. so not worth keeping a so so one

its a 1.6 driver. The reason it looks 2 different blues is coz its had new wings and bonnet so it was sprayed.
Thats not the best pic! lol.
Its only had 3 owners, got 130'000 miles, just been recently serviced. New brake pads.
It will come with 5 spoke Mims that are practically brand new as the BBS are my other halfs.
I only paid £250 for it which i think was a bargain! I was thinking about £300 but my BF wants me to keep it. I would rather have the cash i think that have another golf abandoned on the drive! (we already have 2 mk1's on the drive)

Sell it. It's an average condition driver after all.

... it's turned into a fashion show for poofters.
