side repeaters. what options?
« on: 18 April 2007, 21:27 »
i have the crystal clear side repeaters on my oak green at the minute. i fancy changing them to something a bit more subtle. what other options are there?

ive seen some dark ones that stick out slightly and they looked great but can no longer find them. any ideas?

I've got some smoked ones on mine that came from eurocarparts think they were about £8.
Very dark and blend in a treat, my only complaint would be that they have moulded lettering on them like OEM repeaters, they would have been better with a totally smooth finish.

As daft as it sounds chavfords had the best quality side repeaters I ever got out of three pairs that I bought. The others I got from from ECP (sh1te) and awesome-gti (really sh1te).
......now officially dubless.

They are definately very variable, my first pair from SWG were so bad they went straight back in the post. The second pair I picked up at a show went straight to my mate when I realised I'd need to file the wings slightly. The pair I've got were only meant to be temporary til I found some better ones but they've been on there a year now.

Sounds like I better check out chavfords........anybody got a paper bag

Gibby were they specifically for a golf or a generic type repeater???

Tobz, they were clear ones and I put them on my Rivage. I think they will be the same fitment as they are on a mk2, they may have been generic, but they were the same shape and size etc as the ones I'd got from ECP & Awesome. I can't remember if they said they were specifically for a Golf though, but they probably were. They were actually German too, but this was a while ago that I got them now. Worth an undercover squint in chavfords though. I also got some silver side repeater bulbs to totally hide the yellow, they weren't cheap either.

...and yes, side repeaters are now for wimps.
